Low Performer: Pete's Drive In
17 Violations at 4156 34th
During the inspection at Pete's Drive In, multiple cold foods were found above the safe temperature of 41 degrees. Sliced tomatoes, sliced ham, and raw hamburger patties were all in violation. The cooler itself couldn't maintain a temperature of 41 degrees or below, which is a serious concern. Additionally, raw chorizo was stored above packets of honey mustard, and raw eggs were placed above mustard. A knife had white residue on it, and two spray bottles were not labeled. Corn dogs were held past their use-by date, and there were no paper towels at a hand sink. These violations raise questions about the restaurant's food safety practices.
Furthermore, the insect control device was installed above a freezer at the southeast end of the cook line, and the sanitizer container was stored on the floor next to the 3 compartment sink. Vent shrouds and the ceiling of the walk-in cooler had a buildup of dust, and a box of personal food and drink items was stored above whole limes in the walk-in cooler. There was even a light visible at the top left corner of the back door. These details highlight the need for better housekeeping and compliance with food safety regulations.
