Set to take place from June 23rd to 25th at Keystone Kidspace, the event focuses on children aged 7 to 11 who are customers of Pennsylvania American Water.

In a picturesque setting nestled within York City, a remarkable opportunity awaits young learners this summer. Pennsylvania American Water, alongside Penn State Extension Master Watershed Stewards and other regional environmental groups, has introduced the “Wonderful World of Water” camp. Held at Keystone Kidspace, located at 10 E. Hamilton Ave., this free day camp invites children from eligible households to explore vital concepts concerning water quality and preservation.
The program dives into watershed fundamentals, examining how human actions influence river and stream health. Participants will uncover innovative methods to combat water pollution while gaining insights specific to their local environment, particularly Codorus Creek. William Gelgot, external affairs manager for Pennsylvania American Water, emphasizes the significance of fostering environmental stewardship among future generations.
Registration remains open online with limited spots available for 25 participants. Families must secure enrollment with a refundable $10 deposit per child. To finalize registration, parents must submit documentation confirming their status as Pennsylvania American Water customers. Each day of the camp spans from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering snacks but requiring campers to bring packed lunches.
